Bluff your way in management books

by Viv on December 10, 2007

There’s a huge number of management and business books that realistically you’ll never have the chance to read. Whilst it may be more macho to say that you’re far too busy and important to read them, do you ever wonder what you’re missing?

I’ve recently been alerted to a resource called
book bytes. The main free offering is 15 minutes summaries of best selling business books. Hence you can sound all knowledgeable with relatively little effort (or buy the book if you’re that interested in finding out the whole story). The summaries that I’ve read so far seem pretty good – attractive enough format and well explained. There are more services available if you subscribe for them.

If you happen to be a member of ICAEW, you can get access to book bytes for free on www.icaew.com – there’s got be some compensations for slaving through all those exams and this is a small one (especially compared to the membership fee I pay 🙂 ).

If there’s a book that someone asks you read at work, do let me know and I’ll see if there’s a summary I can send your way.
